SEVENTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME

The Project - WP 08: Training and Dissemination (TUM)

Objectives

The main objectives of this Workpackage are

  • to disseminate the results generated in CARDIORISK.
  • Sharing information; building team spirit; strengthening the synergising and complementarity of the partners and developing mutual specialization; supporting management; offering training.
  • Checking regularly the relevance of the CARDIORISK objectives and scope through periodic interaction between the Project Board, Project Management Group and the Advisory Board. 
  • To establish and adopt common operational procedures (SOP).

Workpackage Description

Dissemination activities are of major importance to achieve better awareness, new knowledge, transfer of technical know-how and therefore European integrated research in this field.

The primary goal of CARDIORISK is the dissemination of knowledge and spreading of excellence in the domain of radiation biology and radiation therapy by creating a community of researchers and developers and facilitating future collaborative initiatives between them.

Task 1: Creation of career plan for junior scientists
Task 2: Gender equality training activities
Task 3: Establishment of a website
Task 4: Organisation of workshops for junior scientists
Task 5: Exchange of scientific (graduate and postdoctoral) staff between partners
Task 6: Dissemination of project results

WP leader

WP leader is Univ.-Prof. Dr. Michael Molls (Technical University of Munich, Germany),
Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology and has been involved in radiation biology and clinically related research for over 20 years. He has coordinated and advised several successful national and European large scale projects. He was member of the project board of a "Concerted Action Committee" in Biomedical Engineering of the European community. He was president of the German Society of Radiation Oncology and chairman of the Munich Cancer Centre. At present he is member of the board of directors of the “Munich Centre of Advanced Photonics" (a Cluster of Excellence funded by the 'Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft').
